Review Methodology

How Bespoke Shoppers evaluates boutique fashion brands, handmade goods, and shopping options.

What we evaluate

Our reviews and buying guides compare options across a consistent set of criteria so readers can see the trade-offs clearly. Depending on the category, we look at:

  • Materials and sourcing: fiber content, tannery or mill information, and whether claims are specific or vague
  • Construction: stitching, hardware, finishing, and durability indicators described by the maker or visible in documentation
  • Fit and sizing: size range, measurement charts, model sizing, and customer feedback on accuracy
  • Care and longevity: washing, repair options, and whether the item is designed to be maintained
  • Value: price relative to materials, construction, and expected lifespan, not price alone
  • Business practices: return windows, shipping transparency, and how the brand handles problems
  • Ethics where verifiable: labor disclosures, small-batch production, and environmental claims that can be checked

How we gather information

We combine desk research with maker interviews, published specifications, and aggregated verified customer experiences. When we have not personally tested or inspected an item, we state that limitation in the article. We do not imply hands-on review experience we do not have.

Ranking and recommendations

We do not use a single numeric score to flatten meaningful differences. Instead, we explain who each option suits and where it falls short. Categories such as "best for" are based on the criteria above and are updated as information changes.

Affiliate independence

Affiliate commissions do not influence rankings. Any page with affiliate links carries a disclosure, and our Affiliate Disclosure explains the relationship in full.
